The Sports and Exercise Unit collaborates extensively with local clubs, associations and companies. On this page, you will find information about exercise groups and events that we organise together with our various partners. In Seuraposti, we inform sports clubs and other local organisations of important topical issues, such as the application periods for time slots in the sports facilities, upcoming events and cooperation opportunities. The newsletter is in Finnish.

In any activities organised with our partners, we always comply with ethical guidelines and the principles of a safer space. Everyone should feel safe at our facilities and when using our services.
Sports activities for children and young people
Together with our partners, we organise free-of-charge Töpinät activities, WAU clubs, Jumppi groups and recreational activities for primary and secondary school pupils. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about partnership opportunities.

The KULPS sports path introduces pupils in grades 1–9 to new sports and sports venues The aim is also to create opportunities to try brand new sports that might be difficult to access otherwise. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about partnership opportunities.
Play & Move (Leiki ja liiku) are activities for 5–6-year-olds carried out by Espoo’s Sports and Exercise Unit, early childhood education and care in Finnish and Swedish, and sport clubs. The partners will be put out to tender in autumn 2026. You can participate in the tendering process by submitting a tender in the Tarjouspalvelu.fi portal.
Adapted physical activity
We organise exercise opportunities for special groups in cooperation with different associations and societies. The objective for the diverse exercise activities is to maintain functional capacity and physical condition. The groups also serve as an important meeting place for the participants. Exercise for seniors
Together with our partners, we organise diverse guided exercise groups in various sports for seniors. Their objective is maintaining and improving the participants’ physical condition, improving their functional capacity and offering recreation.
Is your organisation interested in organising training for volunteers? We organise training for, for example, outdoor buddies and gym buddies. We are also interested in other models for developing volunteer work. Contact us.
Sports events
Together with our partners, we organise all kinds of sports events every year, such as the Waterfront Walkway Day. Join us in organising events for residents. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about partnership opportunities.
Espoo Hobby Search
The Espoo Hobby Search compiles hobby opportunities organised in Espoo into one place. Clubs, associations and other actors are also free to add their own groups to the hobby search.
Sports grants
The Sports and Wellbeing Committee may award grants to sports clubs registered in Espoo that are members of a national sports organisation, or to any association with activities that focus primarily on sports and exercise. The grants awarded include sports services grants for recreational activities and applied special groups, rental support, education support, stipends for young athletes’ and orienteering map grants. To be eligible for a grant, the partners shall commit to complying with Espoo’s principles of responsibility.
