Exercise for children and young people

In Espoo, we encourage children to exercise and adopt an active way of life, and we also take into account the demand for applied exercise. Together with Espoo-based sports clubs and associations, we organise regular weekly sports and exercise activities for children and teens. We offer relaxed hobby groups where the children can try out different sports guided by instructors of different sports clubs. In sports clubs, the children have the chance to influence the activities. Exercise is also available during school holidays when exercise events and try-outs for a wide variety of different sports are organised for children and youth. The offered activities are mostly free of charge.

More information

Espoo swimming halls, ice rink halls and other indoor exercise facilities invite you to move by yourself or together with friends or family.

The children and young people of Espoo also have plenty of options for unguided sports activities - you could go to play disc golf, throw a basketball around a free court or head to the exercise stairs.

How should I start exercising? What sport would suit me? Our exercise instructors will give free-of-charge counselling for exercise to residents of all ages, especially those just starting out. A child or a young person can seek out exercise counselling by themselves or together with their parent.
