Wellbeing
Working together for a safe and meaningful city for everyone. One of our key duties is promoting the wellbeing of the residents of Espoo. Wellbeing is a subjective experience that builds on many things: physical, mental and social functional capacity, meaningful hobbies, the feeling of social inclusion and belonging, good interpersonal relationships, the feeling of capability and meaningfulness, and a good enough standard of living.
We are building a city where the environment, services, and culture support the most important factors of wellbeing - such as healthy lifestyles, life management, participation, communality, and meaningfulness. Wellbeing is an investment that helps prevent poverty, social exclusion, and other social and economic disadvantages.
