Environmental Health Services is responsible for the municipality's statutory health protection, food control, tobacco control and veterinary care.

Environmental Health Services is responsible for the municipality's statutory duties based on the Health Protection Act, Food Act, Veterinary Care Act, Tobacco Act and Medicines Act in Espoo, Kauniainen and Kirkkonummi.

The unit has an office in Otaniemi, Espoo, at Tekniikantie 15.

Water samples can be dropped off on Mondays by 11:00 to: Urban Environment Sector's customer service (2nd floor), Tekniikantie 15, 02150 Espoo

The Otaniemi customer service also provides sampling kits for well water sampling. The customer service point is open Mon-Fri 8:00-15:30.

The route to the main entrance

The accessible parking space is located outdoors under 10 meters from the entrance. The width of the parking space is at least 3.6 meters.
The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
The route to the entrance is guided, smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The main entrance

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
The doors connected to the entrance are hard to perceive. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door is heavy or otherwise hard to open.
The entrance has thresholds over 2 cm high.

In the facility

The customer service point is located on floor 3.
For moving around, there is a lift, which can hold a wheelchair; the door opens automatically. The floor numbers in the lift cannot be felt with fingers. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
The doors in the customer service point are hard to perceive.
The waiting room of the customer service point has no queue number system. The waiting room has chairs.
