Detailed planning of Viiskorpi will be launched with preparing the objectives

The master plan for the northern and central parts of Espoo was adopted on 13 March 2024. Master plan for the northern and central areas of Espoo

For example, the following pending local detailed plans for the Viiskorpi area were suspended for the duration of the processing of the master plan: 

• Rajanummen pientaloalue 2009
• Viiskorven keskus 2009
• Apilanmutkan pientaloalue 2009
• Anfallinmäen asuinalue 2009
• Latopellon pientaloalue  2009 

In connection with the preparation work, the city will investigate not only the aforementioned areas but also the opportunities of drawing up local detailed plans for the areas along Röyläntie (A3), marked as residential areas in the master plan.

The City Planning Department has prepared an outline plan for Viiskorpi to specify the master plan, which was completed in summer 2025. At the same time, a survey was organised for landowners in the area to determine whether the landowners’ objectives are consistent with the land use of the Viiskorpi outline plan and the objectives presented in connection with it. Based on the draft outline plan, plans and nature surveys have also been prepared for the green area and recreational area network and stormwater management during the preparation process.

The objectives for the local detailed plan of the area will be prepared for the City Planning Committee for examination in 2026. Preliminary themes included in the preparation of objectives for the local detailed plan based on the outline plan work are:

• The centre
• Residential areas
• Public services
• Public transport
• Energy supply
• Recreation and nature

Espoo City Planning Department will organise an information meeting and workshop for Viiskorpi area landowners in December. An invitation to the event and registration instructions will be sent to the parties concerned by letter.
