Changes in the fees for sports and physical activities will enter into force on 1 August 2026
The City of Espoo’s Sports and Wellbeing Committee reviewed the fees for sports and physical activities at its meeting on 23 April 2026. The new price list includes booking fees for activities in new price groups, new fees for such services as bookings for park exercise sessions as well as higher fees for certain products sold at indoor swimming pools. The changes have been prompted by the need to boost the City of Espoo’s fee-based revenue. The changes in the price list will enter into force on 1 August 2026.
Changes in the fees for sports and physical activities from 1 August 2026
- The hourly fees for tennis sessions will increase to 10 euros
- The prices of winter storage for boats and trailer spots will be increased by 10 per cent
- The price of swimsuits on sale at indoor swimming pools will be increased
- The price of the HUR card for the HUR gym at Espoonlahti indoor swimming pool will be increased.
Changes in wristband benefits from 1 August 2026
+68 sports wristband
- The friend benefit of the seniors’ +68 sports wristband will become a discount-based benefit. The friend of the wristband holder will get a 50% discount on the single ticket in their price group and
- the age limit for the swimming or gym friend will be abolished.
- From 1 August 2026, the gym friend benefit will only apply to gyms at indoor swimming pools to which gym+swimming tickets are sold. The wristband holder can also bring along a friend aged under 18. However, the minimum age for gyms is 15 years.
- The fee for a lost wristband will remain at 10 euros.
- The +68 sports wristband will remain free of charge.
- The friend benefit for archipelago traffic will be abolished.
Special exercise and special swimming wristbands
- The friend benefit for special exercise and special swimming wristbands will remain unchanged.
- Friends of the wristband holders can use the City of Espoo’s indoor swimming pools and gyms free of charge. The friend must be aged 18 or over and accompanied by the wristband holder.
- Informal carers taking care of an Espoo resident can continue to use indoor swimming pools and independent training slots at gyms free of charge.

New products
- A winter swimming wristband will be introduced as a new product. It entitles you to use all city-maintained heated changing rooms at winter swimming sites. The wristband will cost 30 euros and it will be valid throughout the winter swimming season (from September to the end of May). You can download the product to the same wristband as the multi-visit products for indoor swimming pools and gyms. The new wristband costs 10 euros. You do not need to purchase a separate wristband if you already have a wristband for the multi-visit products for indoor swimming pools or gyms.
- A swimming training wristband will be introduced as a new product. It entitles persons aged 18 or over to use their sports clubs’ training slots at indoor swimming pools.
- Fees for the use of lanes and teaching pools at indoor swimming pools will also be introduced.
- A fee for park exercise sessions will be introduced.
- A fee for the use of the training area for throwing sports will be introduced.
