Espoo Catering presents: Delicious Christmas pastries

Our product developer Ville has once again conjured up something new for Christmas! Here are three different Christmas pastry recipes to provide variety from the traditional recipe. You can shape the pastries any way you like, for example as stars, snowflakes or simple pockets. 

Chocolate, vanilla and pistachio pastries

Ingredients

6 (puff) pastry sheets
1 bar of Fazer milk chocolate (Fazerin sininen)
1 can of vanilla crème
salted and roasted pistachio nuts

Instructions

  1. Thaw the pastry sheets as instructed on the packet.
  2. Cut the thawed pastry sheets in half, creating squares.
  3. Chop up two pieces of chocolate for each pastry square.
  4. Add a teaspoon of vanilla crème and 4 or 5 (de-shelled) pistachios on each pastry square
  5. Shape the pastries as you like.
  6. Bake the shaped pastries at 200 °C for about 12 minutes or until a beautiful golden brown.

Caramel, apple and cranberry pastries

Ingredients

6 (puff) pastry sheets
1 Granny Smith apple
1 can of caramel crème
dried cranberries

Instructions

  1. Thaw the pastry sheets as instructed on the packet.
  2. Cut the thawed pastry sheets in half, creating squares.
  3. Dice the apple and distribute the cubes evenly on the pastry squares.
  4. Add a teaspoon of caramel crème on each pastry and sprinkle 5 or 6 dried cranberries on top.
  5. Shape the pastries as you like.
  6. Bake the shaped pastries at 200 °C for about 12 minutes or until a beautiful golden brown.

Persimmon, vanilla and cranberry tarts

Ingredients

6 (puff) pastry sheets
1 small persimmon
1 can of vanilla crème
dried cranberries

Instructions

  1. Thaw the pastry sheets as instructed on the packet.
  2. Cut the thawed pastry sheets in half, creating squares.
  3. Dice the persimmon and distribute the cubes evenly on the pastry squares.
  4. Add a teaspoon of vanilla crème on each pastry and sprinkle 5 or 6 dried cranberries on top.
  5. Shape the pastries as you like.
  6. Bake the shaped pastries at 200 °C for about 12 minutes or until a beautiful golden brown.
