Natural sites in Nuuksio

In addition to Nuuksio National Park, the places worth seeing include Sorlampi, where a nature trail around the pond takes you to the Hiidenpesä cave, glacial potholes and the valuable bog of Hackjärvsmossen.

Nuuksio National Park is located in Espoo, Vihti and Kirkkonummi. The national park includes rugged rock pine forests, sturdy spruce forests and lush groves. Bogs are abundant in places, and brooks flow in many places. In addition, there are dozens of lakes and ponds in the area with both boggy and rocky shores. Several dozen endangered animal, plant and fungal species are known to occur in the national park.Photo: Jussi Helimäki
Running mainly through the Hynkänlampi nature reserve, the Sorlampi nature trail leads across varying forest landscape. Along the route, there are cliffs, pond shores, small mires and brooks as well as primeval forests and many interesting geological sites from glacial potholes to a cave.
