Finnoviken (Finnoonlahti) was a sea bay with reeds in its natural state until 1963. At that time, it was dammed to form a precipitation basin for a nearby wastewater treatment plant. The Finnoo wastewater basin has become known as a good bird-watching place. Birds can be observed up close, as the birds are accustomed to birdwatchers and outdoor enthusiasts along the edge of the basin.Photo: Jussi Helimäki
