Natural sites in Kauklahti

The interesting natural sites of the Gumbölenjoki river stretch into Kauklahti, where you can find, for example, the magnificent maple wood, rapids and oxbow lakes of Gumbölenjoki. The Fiskarsinmäki hill in the Espoonlahti nature reserve also has a nature trail and bird-watching tower.

There are a number of geological sites in Musslaxbergen in Kurttila, west of the northern part of Kurtinniityntie. On the southern slope of Musslaxbergen, there are two angular rapakivi boulders, which are about two metres high. There are also glacial potholes and an ancient shore nearby.Photo: Jussi Helimäki
The Hällkärr nature reserve, located in Järvikylä in Espoonkartano, south of Lapinkyläntie, covers an area of six hectares. The area is characterised by lush vegetation. For example, ferns are abundant in places near the brook.Photo: Jussi Helimäki
