Nurmilinnunpuisto park
ParksLeppävaaraThe city of Espoo has started composing a park plan for the Nurmilinnunpuisto in Karakallio.
Phase
Design
The aim is to establish new play and exercise related activities in the park and make it more agreeable and functional. The old playground will be demolished completely.
The planning began at the end of 2022 with a residential workshop where residents were able to give ideas and wishes regarding the improvement of the park. Based on the received feedback a survey was created where residents were able to share more detailed wishes regarding the equipment selection.
64 residents answered the survey, about little over half of which live under 500 meters away from the park. Most of them were adults but also children and teens answered the survey.
The most popular equipment ensembles were the option C for the small children’s playground (22 votes), option A for the older children’s playground (22 votes), option A for the exercise area (21 votes) and option B for the court (36 votes)
Next, a draft of the park plan will be created based on these equipment ensembles and it will become available for residents to view and comment in April. Residents will be informed when the draft plan will become available for viewing. After this the draft plan will be finalised into a final administrative park plan according to the received feedback.
The aim for the park plan is to be finalised by summer of 2023 and the final plan will become available for viewing on this page. After this the park plan will be made into a more specific building plan in according to which the park will be built.
The park will be built in the oncoming years.
