The aim is to build approximately 150,000 square metres of new floorspace. This will provide homes for roughly 3,000 new residents and facilitate the creation of new jobs. The new construction will match the existing environment, and the area’s cultural-historical and natural values will be factored in during the planning. The existing buildings will be preserved, where possible.
A video presentation has been made about the new construction in Kivimies. You can watch the video here (in Finnish)(external link).
