Otaniemi’s extended May Day celebrations are full of joy and student traditions, while at the wild May Day party at the Children’s Cultural Centre Aurora, Herra Hevisaurus and friends will take the stage. Servin mökki
Otaniemi’s extended May Day festivities are filled with joy, student traditions and community spirit. One of the most anticipated moments of May Day takes place on 30 April. The traditional Wappu Declaration will be held from 12:00 to 14:00 in the yard of Servin mökki, known as Smökki (Jämeräntaival 4). The event brings together students, alumni and city residents to enjoy speeches, music and a ceremony culminating in the official Wappu Declaration.

Nature tour Evening singers of Iso Huopalahti

The evening is a great time to listen to birdsong. On this guided walk organised by Nature House Villa Elfvik, we will discuss identifying birds by their song. We will also observe and identify waterbirds at Iso Huopalahti. Please bring your own binoculars and dress warmly. The walk starts from the parking lot next to the Vermonpuisto dog park.
