We use the master plan to prepare for the future and agree on the direction that Espoo’s growth should take. The master plan looks to 2060. Espoo Master Plan 2060
Espoo Master Plan 2060 anticipates and builds the City’s future. The master plan allows the City to grow, while also setting limits for boundaries for the growth. Master planning is a multi-year project in which all Espoo residents can participate.

Information from residents is used as base for the master plan
Extensive map survey, carefully recorded discussions on the future, simple quick poll, post-it notes, children’s drawings. All this information collected from the residents will be utilised when the new Espoo master plan aimed at 2060 is designed.
- In the My Espoo on the Map survey, over 6,000 Espoo residents marked on a map almost 70,000 development ideas and locations that are important to them.
- In the Our Espoo 20X0 event series in spring 2022, the residents discussed the future of Espoo and their own residential area.
- In October–November 2022, two residents’ events about the master plan were held in Espoo libraries.
- The Master Plan 2060 quick survey in autumn 2022 collected over 1,400 answers about what the residents hope that the Espoo of the future will have.
