Everyday safety and life management

Safety lays the foundation for wellbeing

Safety affects all aspects of life and is perceived differently at different stages of life. A sense of safety depends on one’s age, health, neighbourhood, family relationships, financial situation and ability to move around safely.

A sense of safety is created by many things. It is a feeling of not having to be afraid in your relationships or in your own home. It is about knowing that you are in control of your life or knowing how to prevent fires and traffic accidents.

Everyday safety

Everyday safety consists of many elements, such as road and fire safety, a safe home and emergency preparedness.

Life management

Our daily lives form the foundation for our wellbeing. Smooth and balanced daily life affects our wellbeing every day.

Smooth daily life consists of routines, familiar elements that support our wellbeing. These elements include regular meals and a balanced diet, sleep, exercise, daily duties and chores, and social relationships. For many of us, studies and work are an important part of our routines.

Recurring familiar elements generate a sense of security and manageability. Especially when you are going through difficult times in your life, it is important to focus on routines. They help you cope with your day-to-day life.
