Youth library
Children and young people are important customers of libraries in Espoo. Our libraries offer young people a wide range of books, activities, and recreational spaces.Plenty of things to do
Many libraries have spaces dedicated to young people, equipped with gaming consoles, pool and ping-pong tables and comfortable lounge areas. We offer a variety of activities for young people, but you are also welcome to simply hang out with friends. There are always responsible adults present.
At libraries, you can also sew or do crafts and other projects. Libraries’ Makerspaces offer a variety of devices, tools and room for making things. Read more about Makerspaces at Espoo’s libraries.
You can also complete your work experience period (TET) at a library. Read more about employment and internship opportunities in libraries.

Joy and knowledge through reading
Books offer experiences, joy and a wealth of knowledge. At the library, you can find a wide range of literature, from everyday stories to wild fantasy and from craft guides to in-depth information. We help young people find something to read, whether they like comics, non-fiction, or novels. We also encourage them to write their own stories.
In today’s world, people also read many other things apart from books. The library supports different kinds of literacy skills and helps with everyday media skills, such as finding reliable information and creating your own content. We practice these skills with young people during school library visits and daily at the library.
