One-year artist grant

The one-year artist grant is intended for professional artists in Espoo irrespective of art form, and it will be awarded to one artist for one calendar year at a time. The grant recipient must give up full-time paid work for the duration of the grant period.

The artist grant awarded by the City of Espoo corresponds with the artist grants awarded by the the Finnish Arts and Culture Agency. In 2026, the grant amounts to EUR 2 249.02 per month.

The grant is paid on a monthly basis and it includes pension and accident insurance contributions under the Farmers’ Pension Act. Further information is available at the MELA website(external link, opens in a new window).

The one-year artist grant is applied for once a year in the autumn. The application period for 2027 is from 1 September to 30 September, 2026 until 15:45.

The decisions on grant recipients will be made at the December meeting of the The Culture and Youth Committee.
