Wellbeing account and plan
The wellbeing account and plan is a planning, monitoring, assessment and reporting tool for the promotion of health and wellbeing within the municipality.
In Espoo, the wellbeing account and plan is drawn up once during each council term through cooperation between the sectors. The city takes the views of residents and organisations into consideration during the preparation phase. The municipal advocacy bodies are asked to give statements before the matter is discussed by the city’s committees, the City Board and the City Council.
The wellbeing account includes information on wellbeing-related work in Espoo, the elements of wellbeing, inequalities related to wellbeing, the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on wellbeing, and observations on the wellbeing of children, young people and families as well as working-age and elderly people. The wellbeing plan describes the goals for the council term.
In addition to the wellbeing account and plan, the city has separate wellbeing plans for three different age groups. These plans describe the goals in more detail. The information package on Espoo residents’ wellbeing (Espoolaisten hyvinvointi) is used as a basis for wellbeing-related planning. The package is part of a more extensive description of the state of the operating environment, which can be found on the City of Espoo’s website (in Finnish).
The wellbeing account and plan have been compiled by a group of experts responsible for the City of Espoo’s wellbeing-related work.
