For a city of its size, Espoo still has exceptionally large and diverse natural areas of great value. In southern Espoo, the landscape is defined by the Baltic Sea and its coastline, while northern Espoo is characterised by its imposing deep forests and mires. The meadows tell the story of Espoo’s long agricultural history.

In the Nature-wise Espoo project, we will determine how we can better secure and increase biodiversity. A roadmap which defines biodiversity preservation goals and actions will be created as a result.
