Oil tank, removed from use
According to Section 11 of the environmental protection regulations of the City of Espoo, the owner or holder of an oil, fuel or other chemical tank must remove the tank along with its pipelines from the ground and have it cleaned before its removal. The Environment Department may grant an exception from the obligation to remove a decommissioned oil tank from the ground, if its removal is technically very difficult or it causes damage to other property. The Environment Department must be contacted about leaving a tank in place as early as possible in order to assess the requirements for granting an exception.
