School Action Day on 24 September 2026
The School Action Day event offers students in grades 3–9 in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area an opportunity to explore a wide range of sports at the sport stations of sports and exercise clubs and sports associations.
This year, the City of Espoo will organise the School Action Day children’s sports event of the #BeActive European Week of Sport at Leppävaara Sports Park. The project is a collaboration between the Finnish National Agency for Education and the cities of Helsinki and Vantaa.
The event provides children and young people with at least 90 minutes of instructed physical activity. The programme for lower secondary school students also offers the possibility of more freely exploring the sports stations in the multisport hall Kameleonten. In addition, free activities are available for all registered school classes in the area’s event square. Please note that the event is only intended for school classes that have registered in advance.
The event will be held during the school day from 9:00 to 14:00. More detailed class-specific schedules will be sent directly to partners and schools by email.
The event will be held at Leppävaara Sports Park. The more specific areas are marked on the area map.
