Park plan for a dog beach in Jupperi

The planning area is approximately 1,300 m2. The dog beach will be surrounded by a fence, which will have an entrance and maintenance gate. The fence will be approximately 80 metres long, but the structures will not reach the water. The deep waste container currently located in the area will be moved inside the enclosure. A few benches and a notice board will also be placed inside the enclosure.

The current embankment will be made less steep and, thus, safer.

The shoreline, which has brushwood and rocks, will be cleaned up, but the measures will not be extended into the water.

Rowboats abandoned on the beach will be removed. There is also a private jetty, which will be removed. The beach, which can be accessed by vehicle via a street called Pitkäjärvenranta, has been used as an unofficial parking area.

The area will be tidied and covered with grass, and a barrier will be installed to prevent vehicle access.

In the north and south-west, the planning area is bordered by low-rise residential housing, and in the east by Pitkäjärvenranta, a street reserved for pedestrians and cyclists with vehicle access for residents only. In the west, the planning area is bordered by Lake Pitkäjärvi.

At the southern border of the planning area, Linnaistenoja (a ditch) drains into Lake Pitkäjärvi. There is also an underground cable line at the southern border.

The planning process started in February 2023. The park plan will be followed by construction planning. The plans will be completed in 2023. The construction schedule has not yet been specified.

The preliminary plan will be available for public review from 26.04.2023 to 10.05.2023 under ‘Plan material’.

The draft plan will be available for review on the otakantaa.fi website as of 26.04.2023. You can comment on the plan 10.05.2023.

After the public review period, we will respond to feedback and questions collectively. The plan will then be updated, finalised and approved. The signed plan will be available under ‘Plan material’.
