Summary

A detailed plan is being prepared for the area between Kurttilantie and Kauklahdenväylä. The area consists of several parts.

  • Kungsgårdsskolan is an old, protected school building. Its intended use will be changed.
  • In addition, offices or other complementary buildings are being planned for the school plot and the Joukkojenkenttä field next to the school building.
  • A new private day-care centre will be placed on two currently unbuilt plots along Kurttilantie.
  • New corporate offices on Kauklahdenväylä are being planned. In addition, the possibility of adding a new street from Kurttilantie to Joukkojenkenttä via Rahamännynpuisto is being investigated.
  • At Fransmanninkuja in the southern part of the planning area, there is a block area currently reserved for residential and office buildings. The area is currently unbuilt, however. The possibility of building detached houses in this area is currently being investigated.

The city has no use for the old school building. At a later point in time, the city will launch a search for parties interested in the building. The school is a protected building, and its culture-historical value is of great importance during planning.

The City of Espoo owns the land area. The city’s goal is to increase the number of available offices and private day-care centres. The plan is to hand over a plot or plots from the southern part of the area for construction. There is high demand for plots for detached houses in Espoo.
