One of the visit locations of Espoo Info is the Kivenkolo Community Centre in Espoonlahti. Kivenkolo is a living room open to everyone, where the residents of the area can gather and spend some time. Espoo Info visits Kivenkolo once a month to provide digital advice to visitors. Anni-Pauliina Lummekoski, who coordinates the operations of the community centre, says that cooperation with Espoo Info has been very smooth. “Our visitors have begun to trust the employees now that they are used to the same person,” Anni says.
Everyday advice with people
Jenni Vuorimäki, Service Advisor, started doing Mobile Espoo Info visits around four years ago. Over the years, she has become familiar with the customers and staff of the visit locations. “Many customers have found it easier to approach familiar employees, and the threshold for asking questions has been lowered. There have been happy moments and other emotional situations over the years. We have been asked all kinds of questions. It has been wonderful to meet the customers the next time and hear that our advice has helped them or that the matter has been resolved.”
Jenni says that the best part of the job is the opportunity to do a wide range of different things. “We are sometimes involved in organising a Christmas party at a visit location, or we might participate in an afternoon dance. We have also accumulated other contacts, and they have often helped us guide the customer to the right place or to determine where we could find more information. In addition to the agreed-on visits, it has been possible to book a one-hour advisory appointment with the mobile service, allowing us to better focus on the customer’s concern.”
Smooth cooperation with the wellbeing services county
The service advisors of Espoo Info have been welcome to the Espoon keskus Service Centre. Paula Strömberg from the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County says that Espoo Info employees are skilled and nice. “We at the Espoon keskus Service Centre have successfully worked in cooperation with the mobile service for some time now. Once a month, service advisors visit our living room and answer various questions related to Espoo and its services. Generally, there is also time for questions related to applications or digital services. We have had the pleasure of receiving them twice a month to provide digital support appointments. This has been really welcome and important for us and our customers. They also participate in bi-annual celebrations where they can meet an even larger number of people and tell them about Espoo Info activities.”
