Enjoy a fun-filled summer at residents’ parks

We recommend visiting our residents’ parks this summer. They offer a wide range of free summer activities for families with children. All of Espoo’s 16 residents’ parks will be open until Midsummer. The following residents’ parks will be open all summer, also in July: Hiirisuo, Latokaski, Matinkylä, Perkkaa, Suvela, Tapiola and Viherkallio.
Outdoor activities, spending time together and new experiences are the highlights of the summer, and you can enjoy all of them in our residents’ parks. Our parks offer fun activities for children of all ages and their families.

Crafts, obstacle courses, water games and barbecues
This summer, our parks offer a range of activities from crafts and music to art workshops and obstacle courses. The programme also includes water games, hobbyhorse competitions, senior exercise sessions, toy and clothes swaps, and theatre performances. The parks’ boardgames and outdoor games and toys will be available for visitors to use.
We have not forgotten families with babies either, as many of our parks will continue to organise their popular baby dates throughout the summer.
Our parks will host a variety of events during the summer. The midsummer celebration is the highlight of the summer in many parks. The Children’s Cultural Centre Aurora’s summer tour will again visit our parks, bringing joy to children and adults alike. This year’s tour includes circus activities. You can find the summer tour details, dates and stops here.
Picnics and barbecues are some of the most popular activities in our parks. Park grills will be fired up on certain days, weather permitting. Check the exact dates on your park’s webpage. Bring your own food (no raw meat), dishes and cutlery with you.
We hope that our parks’ diverse activities delight all visitors. In the summertime, activities will mainly take place outdoors, but the indoor facilities are also available if you need to use the toilet or heat your food, for example.

Our residents’ parks are open to people of all ages. During the summer, the parks are open Monday–Friday 8:00–16:00. You can also play in the yard areas outside these hours.
The summer programme varies from park to park. Check out each park’s programme on its webpage. The parks also share information about their summer activities on social media. You can find a list of all residents’ parks and links to their webpages here.
Park staff help visitors whenever necessary. However, please remember that young children must be accompanied by an adult. Schoolchildren can visit the parks on their own with their guardians’ permission, but guardians are always responsible for their children.
The hours fly by when you are playing and having fun in the park. Remember to wear a hat and sunscreen and bring a bottle of water with you – and of course a positive attitude. Come and enjoy the summer in our residents’ parks!
