Instructions for food business operators regarding the water boiling recommendation
20.2.2024 13.03Updated: 29.8.2024 11.38
Updated on February 21 at 8 AM. The health authority has discontinued its recommendation to boil water. All water samples are clean, and water can again be used normally.
Before the recommendation is lifted, you should boil tap water before using it for drinking, cooking or food preparation.
Water should be boiled for at least five minutes. Water used in coffee makers or kettles should also be boiled first. You can use the water after it has boiled.
Please consider the following:
- If possible, use disposable tableware.
- Industrial dishwashers can only be used if the water temperature exceeds 80 °C during the cycle. The dishes must be completely dry before they are used.
- Automatic coffee machines and drinking water dispensers should be taken out of service.
- When using steam, the water temperature must exceed 100 °C.
- After washing your hands, you should dry them well and also use hand sanitiser or disposable gloves.
The water boiling recommendation will be in force until the health protection authority has approved the quality of the water in the area.
