In late May and early June, Espoo residents helped us map harmful garden lupines through the Crowdsorsa mobile game. The participatory concept was tested in 12 meadow areas in Espoo. A total of 165 people participated in the mapping process. Thank you all!

The second phase of the project starts on Friday 9 June at 9:00. A new mission will then be available through the Crowdsorsa(external link, opens in a new window) mobile game, allowing anyone to eradicate the marked lupine areas for a monetary reward. The eradication of Himalayan balsam will start after midsummer. We will provide more information later. More detailed information is available on the Crowdsorsa app, where you can find the mission a few days before it starts.

During the pilot phase, there were only a limited number of target areas, which was a disappointment to many. Even though no reward is paid for the rejected lupine observations, you can report them through the Vieraslajit.fi(external link, opens in a new window) service(external link, opens in a new window). We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the inaccurate instructions.

Take part in the project and help protect Espoo’s native species.
