Leppävaara outdoor pools to be filled at the end of May
This spring, the opening of the Leppävaara outdoor swimming pool will be delayed due to delays in maintenance work.
Problems in competitive tendering have delayed the procurement of maintenance services. The Premises Department has not received tenders for all maintenance tasks. As a result of these issues, maintenance work started much later than usual. Problems with the cleaning of the steel pools have also caused delays.
The filling of the pools is now set to start on the last weekend of May with the filling of the multi-purpose pool. After this, the large pool will be filled. The filling of the pools takes about seven days. According to preliminary estimates, the pools should be available to swimmers at the beginning of June, starting from 3 June.
The Premises Department is responsible for the procurement of maintenance and repair services for Espoo’s swimming pools. The Premises Department apologises for the delays in the maintenance and cleaning of the pools and for the pools not being available to customers. In the future, the Premises Department promises to have the pools cleaned and maintained in good time.
