City of Espoo to partner with Helsinki Pride
The City of Espoo is an official partner of Helsinki Pride in 2023. Helsinki Pride is the most influential cultural and human rights event in Finland, bringing people together and making room for all the colours of the rainbow.
As stated in the Espoo Story, the city’s key values and operating principles include fairness, equality, and tolerance. Achieving these goals requires concrete actions that promote equality. As part of the Helsinki Pride partnership, Espoo’s staff will be trained in equality issues.
We will improve Espoo’s visibility, appeal and vitality. The Pride partnership is one of the ways in which the city works to promote equality and diversity. It also gives the staff a chance to learn more about these themes.
Various city units will be flying the rainbow flag during Pride Week. The Pride partnership will last from 3 May 2023 to 30 April 2024, and related events will be held throughout the year.
