New bus routes to begin operating in Suur-Espoonlahti and Suur-Kauklahti

The Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) is introducing new bus routes in Suur-Espoonlahti and Suur-Kauklahti. The change will take effect on Monday 6 February.

The majority of Suur-Espoonlahti bus services currently running to Matinkylä will instead run to the new bus terminal in Espoonlahti. More cross-town bus routes operating between metro stations and the Kauklahti railway station will be introduced. An increasing number of western Espoo’s bus routes will be connected to the trunk rail network at both ends, making public transport in the area more networked than before. More information about the changes can be found on the HSL website(external link, opens in a new window).

The routes and timetables of the new bus services can also be found in HSL’s Journey Planner. HSL’s information leaflet about the changes will be distributed to all households in Suur-Espoonlahti and Suur-Kauklahti at the end of January or beginning of February.

The reason for the changes is that HSL is updating the bus routes in western Espoo to align with the new metro line section between Matinkylä and Kivenlahti.
