At its November meeting, the Committee discussed, among other things, Espoo’s cultural environment programme.
Espoo’s cultural environment programme
The Culture Committee took note of Espoo’s cultural environment programme (ESKO).
The cultural environment programme is a tool for City of Espoo employees engaged in cultural environment work and for residents who treasure and are interested in cultural environments. ESKO is based on the Espoo Story, the CultureEspoo 2030 programme, and the Sustainable Espoo goals. The programme provides guidelines for recognising, preserving and utilising the special characteristics of the environment to improve residents’ wellbeing and to strengthen the sense of community.

The Culture Committee took note of the third interim report on the budget and strategy of the Cultural Unit.
Taito Etelä-Suomi, approval of the curriculum for the general syllabus in crafts
The Culture Committee decided to approve Taito Etelä-Suomen käsityö- ja muotoilukoulu (crafts and design school) as a provider of basic education in the arts in Espoo and to approve the provider’s curriculum for the general syllabus in crafts included in basic education in the arts as of 22 November 2022.
