Work in Finland employer advisory service for international recruitment

26.10.2022 13.49

The national Work in Finland international recruitment employer advisory service helps employers in Finland with questions related to recruiting foreign workers.

Launched at the beginning of October, the service offers an up-to-date one-stop-shop for information on administrative procedures, hiring a foreign worker, residence permits and settling in the country. The service’s experts have a comprehensive understanding of the overall international recruitment process, including the issues that need to be addressed with multiple authorities.

Advice is available to employers by phone on +358 29 5016770 (weekdays 9 a.m.–3 p.m.) and by email at tyonantajaneuvonta@workinfinland.fi

The service is free of charge (apart from local network charge/mobile phone charge) and is also available in English. Employers from the private, public and third sectors, regardless of their sector of activity or the size of their organisation, can contact the employer advisory service. The service is part of the national Talent Boost programme and the new Work in Finland programme, which transcends organisational boundaries.

The service was piloted in early autumn with limited opening hours and service languages. Most of the contacts during the pilot phase came from employers who were planning international recruitment for the first time. The vast majority of questions concerned the overall process of international recruitment and the responsibilities of several different authorities. The service has received good customer feedback: when employers who contacted the service during the pilot were asked how likely they were to recommend the service on a scale of 0–10, the average response was 9.6.
