Tapiola Service Point to be closed down and replaced by mobile service

The Tapiola Service Point will not offer cashier services after 16 September 2022. The Service Point will continue to provide advice and digital support until 21 September 2022, after which it will be closed down.

In the future, the Service Points closest to Tapiola can be found at the Iso Omena Service Centre along the metro line and at the Sello Library, which is accessible by bus. We will also launch a mobile service, known as Espoo Info, in Tapiola during the autumn.

The change responds to the digitalisation of services

The closing of the Tapiola Service Point and the launch of the mobile Espoo Info service are part of the change in Espoo’s customer services. Three of the City of Espoo’s six Service Points will remain open, two have been replaced by Espoo Info points, and the Tapiola Service Point will now be replaced by the mobile Espoo Info service.

The main reason behind this change is the digitalisation of services, as many things can now be done online instead of using cashier services. Through our Espoo Info services, we give people advice on how they can, for example, pay the city’s invoices, download the HSL application and buy public transport tickets, top up their travel card and buy event tickets.

Mobile service brings Espoo Info where customers are

The mobile Espoo Info offers digital support and service advice where the target groups who most need them are, for example at the service centres for senior citizens.

We will gradually develop our Espoo Info services through testing, together with our customers.

“We offer our mobile advisory service under the Espoo Info name in areas where our Service Points have been or will be closed. We launched the service in Espoonlahti in March and in Espoon keskus in August. Now we will start our activities in Tapiola. We are always looking for new places that our mobile service could visit,” says Customer Service Manager Hanna Kautto.

Metro trip to Iso Omena Service Centre

In October, we will organise a guided metro trip from Tapiola to the Iso Omena Service Centre in Matinkylä. During the trip, we will show the participants around the Service Centre and tell them about our digital support services. We will announce the exact date of the trip later in September.
