The Espoon keskus Service Point will not offer cashier services after 17 June 2022. The Service Point will continue to provide advice and digital support until 30 June 2022, after which it will be closed down.

The Service Point will be replaced by the new Espoo Info that will offer a slightly smaller selection of services, providing information and advice on e-services. The Espoo Info will open on 1 August 2022 on the third floor of the Entresse shopping centre, in the lobby of the City Archives and Registry Office.

Espoo Info responds to the digitalisation of services

The closing of the Espoon keskus Service Point and the opening of the Espoo Info are part of the change in Espoo’s customer services. Three of the six City of Espoo Service Points have been or will be closed this year and will be replaced by a new type of service.

The main reason behind this change is the digitalisation of services, as many things can now be done online instead of using cashier services. At Espoo Info, we give people advice on how they can, for example, pay the city’s invoices, download the HSL application and buy public transport tickets, top up their travel card and buy event tickets.

We do not have cashier or sales services at Espoo Info, but you can visit us if you need digital support, i.e. advice on how to use e-services. Cashier services are still available at the Service Points in Kalajärvi, Leppävaara and Matinkylä.

Mobile service brings Espoo Info where customers are

Our Espoo Info staff have also launched a mobile service. This means that we offer digital support and service advice where the target groups who most need them are, for example at service centres for senior citizens.

We will gradually develop our Espoo Info and mobile services through testing, together with our customers.

“We will offer our mobile advisory service under the Espoo Info name in areas where our Service Points have been or will be closed. We launched the service in Espoonlahti in March and will offer the same service in Espoon keskus as of August. Later, we will start our activities in Tapiola. We are currently examining places that our mobile service could visit,” says Customer Service Director Kirsi Remes.
