Senioripaku, or Elderly People’s Van, launched its season with an event held in the Suvela residents’ park on 5 May. The event programme included guided exercise sessions, a performance by Loiske Ensemble from OSIRIS theatre and guidance on services for the elderly.

The event was attended by senior citizens, children participating in the resident park activities and parties involved in the Healthy Espoo project. A service instructor from Nestori – Guidance and Service Counselling for Senior Citizens answered questions from the elderly and Laurea physiotherapist students instructed two group exercise sessions. The event also included outdoor games and nice discussions among the participants. The seniors attending the event warmly welcomed the concept of Senioripaku and said that they were happy with the services it provides.

At the end of the event, everyone gathered in the Suvela chapel to watch the performance Strong and Gentle by Loiske Ensemble of OSIRIS theatre. The viewers were impressed with the performance, and Senioripaku’s goal of bringing people together and creating encounters was met.

Senioripaku’s upcoming stops will be updated monthly on the website, where you can also find more information about the van’s operations.
