Our urban environment is changing rapidly: sustainable solutions and new technological applications are shaping cities as we strive for a carbon-neutral and sustainable society. This change requires everyone – cities, companies, organisations, universities and residents – to come together and cooperate. This is not a task that can be accomplished alone. Join us to hear about and discuss the theme more widely at resident events this spring!

The City of Espoo is working with consulting firm WSP Finland to implement a co-creation model in the SPARCS project (https://www.espoo.fi/en/kestava-kehitys/sparcs(extrernal link)), with residents playing a major role in the work. As part of the development of this model, a resident survey will be carried out, along with two resident events on the topic.

  •  The resident survey was published on 4 March, and you can respond to it until 24 March 2022. The survey asks you for your own vision of the future of the developing Espoo. You can access the survey via this link (in Finnish): https://fi.surveymonkey.com/r/DY2C3BL(extrernal link)
  • The results of the survey will be reviewed and a discussion on the topic will be held on 24 March 2022. The discussion event will take place as a Teams meeting (access via browser) on Thursday 24 March 2022 at 17:30–18:30. The event is open to everyone, so you do not need to sign up in advance. The event will be held in Finnish. Join the discussion here.(extrernal link)
  • A related workshop will also be organised later, on 11 May 2022 at Tapiola Library, as part of the Hiilijalanjäljillä series of events, so stay tuned.

The resident events and survey aim to identify the different challenges, opportunities and methods related to the implementation of new sustainable and smart urban solutions through cooperation between different operators. Functional urban environments and solutions play a key role in making everyday life in Espoo run smoothly.

Come and join us!
