Lagstad School Museum's virtual museum.

Lagstad School Museum's new virtual museum is now open. The virtual museum explores the history of the oldest public school building in Espoo and the school life of the past.

The virtual museum provides the opportunity to visit a classroom from the early 20th century, with neatly arranged rows of desks and an old map of Finland on display. During the virtual adventure, you will get to experience the soundscapes of the school’s past and learn more about old teaching equipment and school meals. The footage for the Lagstad virtual museum was shot in an old classroom on the second floor of the school building. The second digital service being prepared by Lagstad is the Finna classroom package. The ‘School in Pictures’ (Koulu kuvissa) package consists of two parts: one covering everyday school activities in the past and the other exhibiting old class photos. KAMU Espoo City Museum is currently working on developing the Lagstad School Museum. Exhibition activities in the Lagstad main building's classroom have been discontinued, and the school museum’s content is now digital, at least for the time being. In the future, the aim is to focus Lagstad School Museum’s operations in the old teachers’ living quarters next to the main building, alongside providing digital content.
