April Jazz Festival will be held exceptionally at the end of October
The 35th April Jazz Festival takes place from October 27th to 31st at Espoo Cultural Centre and EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art. The headlining artists are American tenor saxophonist Joe Lovano with polish Marcin Wasilewski Trio and Portuguese fado singer Carminho. Other international artists include Chilean saxophonist Melissa Aldana, Danish percussion legend Marilyn Mazur and Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Bernhoft. The festival also presents a solid line-up of Finnish jazz musicians: Emma-nominees of the best jazz album 2020, pianist Lenni-Kalle Taipale celebrating his 25-year career, the April Jazz host orchestra Espoo Big Band and solo concert of pianist Aki Rissanen.
