Espoo school services

In the next four years, Espoo will be commissioning the construction of a total of eight schools and day care centres with a new model, which involves a private project company constructing the facilities and handling their maintenance for a period of 20 years.

The new model encourages sustainable solutions

In the operating method, which has been named the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, the City will be making a service agreement with a project company. This company will be in charge of the entirety of the project as a service provider; it will plan and fund the project, obtain the requisite permits and handle construction. In addition to this, the company will handle maintenance through the entire agreement period. After a facility has been completed, the City will provide the project company with a service fee, which covers the implementation and maintenance costs of the school or day care centre.

The model is part of the Schools in Order programme

The PPP model is part of the Schools in Order programme, which ensures healthy and safe premises for schools and day care centres.

The facilities, which will be constructed between 2020 and 2024, are covered by the PPP model:

Pohjois-Tapiola comprehensive school

Perkkaa school and youth centre

Nauriskaski school

Perkkaa day care centre

Nyökkiöniitty day care centre

Kilo school and day care centre

Primary school section of the Kuitinmäki school.
