Working life-oriented teaching, or TEPPO
TEPPO, or working life-oriented teaching, is a form of intensive personalised guidance counselling available to pupils in grades 8 and 9.
In Espoo’s Finnish-language basic education, TEPPO pupils participate in approximately 3–7 weeks of workplace education and training during the school year. In addition, they study a working life-themed optional subject. The rest of the time, pupils study with their own class.
TEPPO is intended for 8th- and 9th-graders who benefit from exploring different work environments and building early working life contacts. It supports planning for future studies, career exploration, and integration.
