Circus tricks and creative expression

Would you be interested in trying aerial acrobatics or circus parkour? Or immersing yourself in a role? At Circus and Theatre School Esko, you can try these activities and perhaps find a new hobby.

“Espoo Circus and Theatre School Esko is a performing arts school that offers basic education in the arts. Here, people of all ages can practice circus, theatre, and circus theatre,” says Principal Terhi Perälä.

Esko has operations in 16 locations around Espoo and 550 students at present.

Recreational classes are available for day care-aged children, schoolchildren, young people, families, adults and seniors.   

“You can attend one free trial class to give it a go. If it’s a good fit, you can sign up at any time during the year as long as there is space available.”

Circus and theatre are hobbies that improve motor skills, body control and concentration. 

“When you work together as a group, you become a more caring and responsible person, while also developing your people skills, independent thinking and social skills,” Perälä explains.

The Esko House in Espoon keskus offers fun activities on Espoo Day. The garden will host a family day and, on the studio stage, you can discover your creative side by participating in circus and theatre workshops. 

You can get pictures taken of yourself or your whole family while wearing stage costumes, and have a bite to eat while enjoying performances by Esko’s students.

The school’s chicken mascot, Esko-tipu, will roam the streets of Espoo during the day. Spot the chicken mascot and answer his questions to win a surprise gift!
