Vermonniitty in Leppävaara offers comfortable living – with a good balance of urban living and closeness to nature. The Sello shopping centre provides a large number of services, areas for outdoor recreation begin on the doorstep, the seashore is close by and there will soon be a light rail service in the area.

“There hasn’t been anything to complain about,” says Heli Mylläri with a laugh. She has lived in the area’s first apartment block for five years.

“Over the years, the area has become more and more comfortable as new houses have been built and common areas and parks have been developed. Public transport is excellent in all directions. My workplace is right next to us in Sello, and my husband has no problem driving to work in Vantaa every morning.”

And there really is no need to travel out of the area as there are shops, gyms, pharmacies and a healthcare centre all within walking distance.

Heli Mylläri enjoys the great view from their home on the top floor of the eight-storey building. Her spouse, who is into harness racing, is happy that he can see the back straight of the Vermo racing track.

“Also, the Jokeri Light Rail will soon be running right on the other side of the road. I don’t think I’ll need it, but for many, it will definitely make travelling easier and more comfortable.”

Mylläri thinks that the nice thing about this area is the ease of living, pleasant neighbours and the proximity of services.

“The best thing is the closeness to nature. It’s easy to get to the woods to clear your head on the frisbee golf track nearby, and you can easily go further to the shore in Munkkiniemi for a coffee.”

Lively hub

Vermonniitty is part of the Greater Leppävaara area, which is the biggest major district in Espoo. The plan is that it will offer a home for 100,000 residents in 2040.

This is the third busiest hub for public transport in the capital region, and it has good connections to different sides of the region by train, bus, bicycle or car, and soon also the Jokeri Light Rail.
