Student welfare services - Viherlaakso upper secondary school

The purpose of student welfare services is to promote and maintain student well-being. Student welfare is primarily provided as collective, and as needed, individual student welfare. Student care is maintained by the entire school's personnel, but individual student care services include specialised student health care services, as well as our school nurse, special education teachers, social worker, and centralised psychologist services.

Collective student welfare services

The purpose of collective student care is to promote students' learning, well-being, health, social responsibility, interaction, and inclusion in the upper secondary school community, as well as the health, safety and accessibility of the study environment. The implementation considers both support for the independence of growing young people and the involvement of guardians.

Individual student welfare services

Individual student care refers to the health care and special education services, psychologists and school social workers provided to the student. Students can apply for student welfare services themselves, but if necessary, they can also be directed to apply for the aforementioned services. The services are voluntary and free of charge for the student.
