Preparatory education for programs leading to an upper secondary qualification, or TUVA education, will be launched on 1 August 2022.
Applications for TUVA education will be submitted in the joint application procedure 22 February–22 March 2022.

TUVA education will be offered by (extrernal link)Omnia, the Joint Authority of Education in the Espoo Region.(extrernal link)

TUVA education will combine previous additional basic education (10th grade), preparatory education for general upper secondary education (LUVA) and preparatory education for basic vocational education (VALMA).

The general goal of students in TUVA education is to achieve learning skills that enable them to apply for upper secondary school education or vocational education and complete these studies.

In this context, learning skills refer to, for example, language skills necessary to study, study skills and life management skills.

During TUVA education, students can also raise their basic education grades if this is needed for them to secure a study place.

Students may also complete some upper secondary school and vocational education studies in TUVA education.

Additional information on education for programs leading to an upper secondary qualification is available on the website of the Finnish National Agency for Education.(extrernal link) (extrernal link)
