Street maintenance, situation on 13 March 2024
We are currently in the middle of two different seasons. There are still snow banks on roadsides but at the same time, the sun is keeping many routes dry.
We will be removing snow from roadsides and the remaining ice from road surfaces. Recent weather conditions have caused potholes in gravel roads, and we are doing our best to fix them. Holes in asphalt surfaces are repaired with a temporary patching material. A contractor is helping us patch holes in roads this week. The actual repair work will start later in the spring.
As the spring progresses, we will start removing grit.
Mechanical snow melting
Last week, we put our snow-melting machine to work. We will be using it to melt snow in the Leppävaara area for at least a few evenings in the next few weeks.
Feedback on maintenance
Our customer service works closely with maintenance staff and informs them about the feedback received. Please note that sending us feedback will not speed up the ploughing of your street. All streets in Espoo are cleared in order, one area at a time, based on their pre-determined maintenance category.
We ask you to send your feedback directly through the city’s online feedback system(external link, opens in a new window). Both our feedback and telephone services are quite busy from time to time, and waiting times may be long.
If you can, also send us a photo of the site in question. Based on the photo, we will be able to assess the urgency of the situation, which will accelerate the processing of your feedback.
