Oittaa winter swimming spot

The Oittaa winter swimming spot is located at a beautiful and peaceful beach by Lake Bodominjärvi.

After dipping in the lake, you can warm up in the sauna at the Oittaa Recreation Centre. There is also a café-restaurant built in a stone barn.

On the jetty at the beach, there is a wind shelter with a heated floor panel and heated steps leading into the water. A pump keeps the water circulating and the hole in the ice open. The long U-shaped jetty allows you to swim slightly longer distances even in winter.

The Oittaa Recreation Centre has changing rooms for men and women, subject to a fee. You can pay the fee for using the changing rooms and sauna facilities at the café-restaurant's cash desk.

The changing rooms on the beach are maintained by the local winter swimming club Oittaan Uppo-Nallet.

Winter swimming season starts 1 September 2025.
