Restoration projects of lakes

Lakes Pitkäjärvi and Lippajärvi

Espoo lakes Pitkäjärvi and Lippajärvi are both eutrophic lakes and popular recreational areas located in the vicinity of Laaksolahti and Viherlaakso. Numerous restoration measures have been carried out in the lakes since the 1970s, including management fishing and oxidation, but there is still room for improvement in the ecological states of both lakes. Restoration plans were drawn for the lakes in 2019, and new restoration measures in accordance with the plans were launched in 2020. The project has received funding from the former Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (now the Economic Development Centre).

Lake Loojärvi

Lake Loojärvi is located in between the City of Espoo and the municipality of Kirkkonummi. A scattered loading study and restoration plan were prepared for Lake Loojärvi in cooperation with Kirkkonummi in 2020.
