Pay subsidy
Employment Services may grant organisations a discretionary pay subsidy for the wage costs of unemployed jobseekers. The subsidy is granted and paid to the employer, but granting it is always based on the service needs of an unemployed jobseeker. Information on the pay subsidy is recorded in the unemployed jobseeker's employment plan or an equivalent plan. Pay subsidy may be granted for an indefinite or fixed-term full-time employment relationship, apprenticeship training or a part-time employment relationship. The subsidy may currently be granted to an employer for a maximum of ten employment relationships. Employment Services assess whether the subsidy is an appropriate means of promoting the employment of the unemployed jobseeker and individually decide on the duration and amount of each subsidy period. Pay subsidy is not granted to any units of the City of Espoo. As an employer, you commit to paying the pay-subsidised employee a wage in accordance with the collective agreement or a typical and reasonable wage if there is no applicable collective agreement.
