Ullantorpanpolku
ParksLeppävaaraEspoo’s Public Works Department is planning to create a separate space for a ski track alongside the Ullantorpanpolku recreational route. In the west, the ski track runs towards Kasavuori in Kauniainen and, at the eastern end, across Turunväylä towards Espoo’s Central Park along the existing ski tracks and recreational routes. The current ski track network has a gap around Turunväylä.

Design
In addition, Fortum is planning to build a district heating pipeline in the same area and, in connection with this process, construction site routes must be created on and next to the current recreational route. The space created in connection with the construction work will be landscaped and turned into a meadow on which the ski track can be laid. The district heating pipeline and the ski track will be coordinated to minimise their environmental impact. The current route is illuminated and, for the most part, the same lighting will be enough for the ski track. In the future, the route can be used by both skiers and pedestrians in the wintertime.
