Street plans for Espoontori area and bus terminal
Streets and trafficEspoon keskusA bus terminal is being planned next to the Espoontori block. The plans for the area also include a new street, Sihteerinkatu, and improvements to the safety and usability of existing streets. Street greenery, lighting and the overall appearance of the area will be improved. A large proportion of parking spaces will be moved inside the block. The new Sihteerinkatu, to be built parallel to the railway, and the associated bridge crossing Espoonportti will enable smooth access to the Citymarket currently under construction and to the extension of the shopping centre.

Design
You can view and comment on the draft plans through the Otakantaa website from 6 to 20 March 2026 at www.otakantaa.fi(external link, opens in a new window). The draft plans will also be presented at a residents’ event at Entresse Library on Tuesday 10 March 2026, 17:00–18:30. Address: Siltakatu 11.
The planning area includes the entire Asemakuja, the section of Siltakatu between Kamreerintie and Reviisorinkatu, as well as the section of Espoonportti between the railway and the roundabout. The plans for the areas between the railway and the blocks include a bus terminal between Kamreerintie and Asemakuja, as well as the new Sihteerinkatu street between Asemakuja and the Reviisorinkatu intersection. Sihteerinkatu will connect to the new Sihteerinsilta bridge crossing Espoonportti and to the Kasöörinpiha square.
